How long will it take me to be approved for TONIK? If Blue Cross of California requests additional information in order to review your medical history, it will take a little longer. Otherwise, most of our TONIK applicants, without a previous health conditions, are approved in just one day.

Can I get medical prescription benefits with TONIK? Absolutely. Each TONIK health plan covers its participant's generic prescription drug purchases. Members will only have to pay $10 per prescription they have filled. TONIK plans do not offer coverage for brand name prescription medications, so applicants determined to be reimbursed for brand name prescriptions will have to look for a different health insurance plan. On the other hand, most health care related pharmaceuticals have a generic equivalent, so just about everyone else will be able to ask their doctor to save them money by prescribing generics.

Will I still be able to see "my" doctor if I'm covered by one of Blue Cross of California's TONIK plans or will I have to join a network? Definitely. TONIK is not an HMO. The three Tonik Health Plans each offer low-cost access to private physician care and even Hospital stays.
